Good morning,
Just to verify: I have an SA Snell 2000 helmet -- I will need a 2005 starting next year, correct? Christmas is looming which is why I ask.
Thanks!

Great topic, thanks for asking.
Chin Motorsports will accept SNELL 2000 certifications until the end of 2010. SNELL 2000 will not be accepted in 2011. SNELL 2005 will be accepted until end of 2015.

Buyer's tip - once the SNELL 2010 standard is released, deep discounts will be available on helmets with SNELL 2005 certification...

a note of clarification -
For racers, many competition sanctioning bodies will NOT accept the 2000 certification beginning in January 2010. Only 2005+ cert will be accepted after that.

Since our programs are strictly non-competition, not subject to sanctioning, Chin Motorsports gives a 1-yr grace period for updating helmets. Hence, extended to the end of 2010.
