I'm curios as to what you guys like for in car communicators/intercoms. I believe I saw a couple of these units out there at sebring the last event. If you use the one below let me know what you think and if you use any other things of this type let me know what you like or don't like about it.

It would be nice to find one like this that just runs off of a 12V suplly and the heck with the battery.

They have it for 63.70 and the headsets are pretty cheap through them as well. Shipping seems to be free, but I didn't go to far in the ordering process so it might add that in later. So it would have been 89.20 for the main unit, and one full face headset(25.50).

I don't know if anyone has ever dealt with "Value Accessories" before though, if you have let me know how they are.

I use that Chatterbox system, but you will also need to purchase a headset for your helmet and another one for your passenger. Buy the appropriate unit for your helmet (open or closed face design), and use the student/racing headset (SRHS) with extension cord for your passenger. According to the website, the extension cord is bundled with the main unit, and that sounds like a good value. The student/racing headset is not listed on that web page, but can be viewed here: http://www.powersports4less.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=CB-CBRSRHS

The Nady system is used by Chin, and is less expensive, though not as robust.

yeah you can also get the student headset off of www.amazon.com (Amazon is the ****, I get all kinds of stuff from them for cheap as hell even with shipping), I'll probably get one of those later on, but 'm just getting the main unit and the headset for now for myself first, I'll pick up the student headset probably right before the next event. I'm definately going closed face on the helmet though, I do like open face but that extra safty has me.

As for the nady, I've read a lot fo bad reviews on those things, poor audio quality, a lot of interfierence, static all over the place. not something I want to have to deal with. This system seems to be rated much higher by everyone.

I use Amazon a lot too.

I'm confused as to why you would buy the main unit and headset just for yourself. The system has no purpose unless you add another headset for communication between two people.

because ray, one of the guys I work with has the same system and already has the headset in his helmet and I'm hoping to get him as my instructor. So for the time being as long as this is the system he has, which I'm pretty sure it is(I'll confirm before I order it next week, I don't need the other headset.
