Good morning, Just to verify: I have an SA Snell 2000 helmet -- I will need a 2005 starting next year, correct? Christmas is looming which is why I ask. Thanks!

Great topic, thanks for asking. Chin Motorsports will accept SNELL 2000 certifications until the end of 2010. SNELL 2000 will not be accepted in 2011. SNELL 2005 will be accepted until end of 2015.
Buyer's tip - once the SNELL 2010 standard is released, deep discounts will be available on helmets with SNELL 2005 certification...

a note of clarification - For racers, many competition sanctioning bodies will NOT accept the 2000 certification beginning in January 2010. Only 2005+ cert will be accepted after that.
Since our programs are strictly non-competition, not subject to sanctioning, Chin Motorsports gives a 1-yr grace period for updating helmets. Hence, extended to the end of 2010.

As a Chin Member you have the added benefit of ordering anything, including SA-2010 helmets from Discoveryparts and receiving a 10% "Chin Wins" discount.
http://www.discoveryparts.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?keywords=sa2010 is a really nice selection of the SA2010 and SA-H-2010 helmets available. If you are unsure of what the new H rating is, the link has a cliff notes description.
This discount is valid trackside, on our toll free number 888-748-7223, and on our website www.discoveryparts.com. Please enter the code "Chin-Wins" and when the order is entered into our system your discount will be applied then.
We at Discoveryparts thank Mark and Maria for a great year and look forward to a fast and safe 2011.

Hello,
My I have a G-Force full face helmet with SA2000 printed on the lower back outside of the helmet but have the SNELL sticker inside showing SA2005. Can I show that sticker to the tech and the helmet is legal? I'm assuming yes but don't want to assume and look like an a@@.

Hmmm, that's interesting... normal helmet specification is that the inner sticker will match the label on the shell... Do you know in what year the helmet was manufactured?
