Posted - 07/10/2015 : 14:55:16 I recently blew my engine in my Elise. Probable detonation breaking off the controller arm for one of my pistons. Piston, controller arm are vaporized and the cylinder is destroyed.
I need opinions from people who know: I am going to be replacing my engine: Toyota 2ZZ-GE 1.9 liter, straight 4. I am going to get a new Toyota 2ZZ-GE block stroker at 2.0 liters.
The question is what compression ratio I should select? My stock engine had a small stock supercharger on it and was 11.5:1. I will be getting a big supercharger/intercooler (probably BOE REV310). One site has this to say: "Choose 9.0:1 compression for high boost turbo, supercharged or extreme nitrous applications. You can use the 10.5:1 or even 11.5:1 for low boost and light nitrous applications."
