Thought this would be of interest since they say it happens under 'severe' driving conditions, which track driving likely qualifies as:

WASHINGTON Lamborghini is recalling 1,491 2004-'06 Lamborghini Gallardo Coupes and Spyders because of a fire risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"In certain driving conditions, the high-pressure steering pipes near the steering assistance hydraulic system pump might leak," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "Leaking fluid, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire."

Lamborghini told federal safety regulators it discovered the problem during internal testing. It said the problem may occur "in rare cases, under really severe driving conditions."

There have been no claims of fires, accidents or injuries related to the recall, said Lamborghini.

The recall began this week. Lamborghini dealers will update the power steering system on the affected vehicles. Owners can contact Lamborghini at (866) 681-6276.

Edmunds says: This is a problem you should address immediately if you own a 2004-'06 Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe or Spyder.
