To participate in a Chin Motorsports track event, a driver and/or passenger MUST use a helmet that meets SNELL standards. Currently, the following certifications are accepted:

SA2015
M2015
SA2010
M2010
K2010
SA2005
M2005
K2005
With Chin, all 05 dated helmets are valid until 2016 . However, competition sanctioning bodies will require 2010 or later beginning in '16. In our non-competition format, we will allow an exemption for 2005 dated helmets to be used through 2016. Open face and full face are both acceptable, with the correct certification. If a driver is using an open-cockpit car, full-face is appropriate.

Chin Motorsports has rental helmets available at every event. Our rental helmets are in full compliance; however, they are open-face: suitable for use in closed cockpit cars.

Helmets with a SNELL '2000' certification are out-of-date and EXPIRED.
Helmets that have only a 'DOT' certification DO NOT MEET MINIMUM standards for motorsports. Please see other postings in this forum for additional details on SNELL certifications and helmet shelf life.

Drive Well, The management
