Chin Motorsports recommends that you wear, at minimum, 100% cotton clothing for
safety reasons (fire). We also recommend that you wear clothing that fully covers
your arms and legs. It is also a good idea to wear sneaker type non-slip shoes that
lace tight. NO SANDALS, HIGH HEELS or BOOTS. The typical driver is dressed in jeans
or Dockers, long sleeved t-shirt or pullover, cotton socks and tennis shoes. 100%
cotton sweatshirts and poplin jackets are great for the cool weather. Leather clothing
is also a great option.
The safest clothing for the track is made from a fire resistant material called
Nomex. Nomex is generally worn by racers and by drivers of highly modified cars.
Being a good insulator, wearing Nomex can be great for the winter events, but it
is a bit uncomfortable in our hot and steamy Florida summers. Nomex clothing can
be found at many auto sports Internet sites.
