Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
2.4 mile long course
Monday-Tuesday, May 29-30, 2006
FORMAT
TracQuest Format, 3 run groups, limited enrollment
- Novice:
Entry-level drivers, with assigned instructors.
Passing permitted only on straight-aways, with a point-by signal.
No passing
without a signal. No passing in turns.
- Intermediate Solo: Drivers that are solo qualified, with previous experience.
Passing is permitted on straight-aways and in turns, with a point-by passing
signal.
No passing without a signal.
- Advanced Solo: Highly qualified drivers, with years of experience, and/or
competition license.
Passing on
straight-aways is unrestricted, and in turns with a point-by signal.
No passing in turns without a signal.
- Enrollment in each group is limited to
25 participants.
- Each category has access to about 3 hours of track time each day.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
The deluxe TracQuest format includes trackside continental
breakfast in the paddock each day, for all participants.
- Also, soft drinks and waters are included throughout the day for all
participants
- Optionally, a participant can choose to add a multi-course hot buffet lunch,
served at the track, as well.
- Another option that can be chosen is an upscale gourmet banquet dinner,
offered for Monday night.
- Todd Serota is well-known for providing wine education, and participants are
encouraged to bring a favorite bottle to the dinner.
HOTEL
- In 2006, the host hotel will be the
Quality
Inn, in Bellville, less
than 15 minutes from the track.
- Standard double rooms start at $82, ask for the Chin Motorsports/TracQuest rates.
Some deluxe rooms
are available.
- Participants are responsible for
their own reservations.
CONVERTIBLES
- Street convertibles are permitted, with some restrictions.
- A ‘vert
with no factory protection (Corvettes, early Miatas, Mustangs, etc…) may
participate,
and can run only in the novice category.
- A ‘vert with some form of
factory roll protection (P. Cabriolets, M3 Cabs, S2000, Boxster),
or aftermarket
roll bar, may run in any category, based on the driver’s experience.
CO-DRIVERS/CAR SHARING
- Co-drivers are welcome, sharing a car in the same run
group.
- A 2nd driver can be added to any primary registration for an additional
$75.
- Like all drivers, a co-driver must have current membership in Chin Motorsports.
INSTRUCTORS
- Instructor registration is available only with prior approval.
- Please
email us with your credentials and
qualifications.
- If approved, track fees are complimentary.
- The same food &
beverage options are available to instructors as other participants.
- Instructors
may run in either Intermediate or Advanced, based on enrollment levels.
- Current
Membership in Chin Motorsports is required, as it is for all drivers.
MEMBERSHIP
- Like most track time car clubs, Chin Motorsports has an annual
membership, required for all drivers.
- The $50 annual dues permits your
registration in any of our 20 planned events in the coming season.
- If you
participated in a TracQuest event in 2005, you already have a complimentary
one-year membership with CMS.

COST
- 2-day track event registration: $530
- Instructor fee (required for novice drivers): $65
- Optional lunch at the track
(at cost; we’re just paying the caterer): $20 X 2 days
- Optional Gourmet banquet dinner: $60
